Part of the book series: Trends in Logic ((TREN,volume 17))

Abstract

Features are central in phonological theory. They come in different varieties. Using the methods of [Krao97] we shall analyse a few conditions on phonological structures. This will elucidate the tradeoff between features on the one hand (and structure) and principles on the other. Without making any claims as to which method is superior, we shall simply outline what choices one has in describing the facts one or the other way.
