Abstract
The United Kingdom is comprised of four political units: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, each with a different geography and culture (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1996). The United Kingdom possesses a long history, and strong political and cultural links with other areas of the world. The political system of the United Kingdom is characterized as stabile and consistent. Furthermore, the United Kingdom is part of the European Community.
