Abstract
In the previous chapters the focus has been on operational aspects of weather radar. In this concluding Chapter we shall look briefly at some special applications, new types of radars and finally, speculate on the future of radar meteorology. Section 11.1 deals with applications to weather modification and space launch support. In section 11.2 we discuss the use of radars at millimetre wavelengths for cloud as well as precipitation studies. We also deal with new developments in the form of bistatic networks, rapid scan systems and the like which may eventually become operational. Finally in section 11.3 we review the progress of radar meteorology and attempt a peep into the future.
