Abstract
Technology Assessment at the Macro Level helps technology policy makers identify policy priorities and directions for economic resources. Inter-disciplingary approaches led to joint resourcing of projects such as that provided by the Joint Committee of the Science and Engineering Research Council and Economic and Social Research Council in the UK in the 1980s. Much research funding and support for technology development is, however, still largely located within discipline domains.
