Abstract
Visibility questions constitute a prolific subfield in Computational Geometry. In a geometric context two object are visible to each other if there is a line segment connecting them which does not cross any obstacles. Therefore as visibility is associated with geodesics, when considering these problems on surfaces important differences arise with regard to the plane or space (more than one geodesic can join two points). To show these differences and how to approach them is the main objective of this chapter.
