Abstract

I consider it a great honour to be invited to write an article for a Commemorative Volume of Auxology being published in memory of Prof. S.R. Das, a noted Human Auxologist and Human Geneticist of India. I would therefore, like to pay my respectful homage to this great man at the outset. I have been working on human growth in particular on adolescent growth of rural Indian children for the last decade. Since the data on linear components of growth in relation to stature growth is scarce in Indian Auxological literature, it was thought to be befitting for this special Volume.
