Abstract

The oil potential of the Dept. of Surabaya is by now well-known to us. We have met the Gunung Sari seep long before, already during the account of Bleeker’s visit there (Chapter 1.3.), and it is mentioned in almost every review of seeps1. Moreover, Stoop’s exploits demonstrated the viability of the “Djabakotta” and the “Twelve Dessahs” concessions.
