Abstract

I grew up in a committed Christian household, and the Christian tradition shaped my understanding of life’s meaning. I believed that we were all born for a purpose, and that purpose had to do with moral and spiritual development. Even bad things happened in order to create good people, by trying their mettle, testing their characters.
