Abstract
Recovery of part-level shape models from images is very important for object recognition, manipulation, object avoidance, part-based segmentation, and other tasks which rely on a compact and generic shape description. Among several part-level models that have been proposed in computer vision, generalized cylinders and superquadrics are the two most widely used mo dels.
