Abstract

This paper describes mainly the configuration and operation of ground station for KIT SAT-3. The TT&C ground station communicates with KITSAT-3 in order to control the satellite and receive the housekeeping status of the satellite. The image receiving ground station receives and process the image data obtained from the KITSAT-3 multi-spectral camera. The hardware sys terns in both ground stations were configured by using a couple of PCs and off-the-shelf product s such that the cost of ground station equipment was minimized. The several software packages were developed so that the operation of the ground stations is as easy and automated as possible. The whole system including KITSAT-3 spacecraft and ground stations shows how much informa tion we can get at the expense of minimum development, installation and operation cost.
