Relationship between the Line Formation Depth and Stratification of Vector Magnetic Fields in the Solar Atmosphere

The relationship between the line formation depth obtained from contribution function and the stratification of vector magnetic field is discussed. It is argued that probing the stratification by employing several lines, to which one assigns formation heights, can be meaningless.
