Abstract

Coconut is a very important crop in the Philippines as well as in many Asia Pacific countries. It is called the Tree of Life because of the many uses one can derived from its leaves as roofing materials, timber from the trunk, fibers from the husk, drink for the water in the nut and the very important oil from the endosperm. On third of the Philippine population depends on the coconut for their livelihood to 60% of the coconut products traded in the world market.
