Abstract

Multi-degree-of-freedom robots and manipulators constitute an important class of controlled mechanical systems. The optimization theories can help in making a significant impact on efficient usage of these systems. With this in our mind, this chapter deals with application of the principles of optimization to this important class of mechanical systems. .
