Applying the Grid Method to the Measurement of Displacement and Strain Fields Through the Thickness of a Sandwich Beam

Abstract

The present work is an experimental investigation. The final goal is to measure the displacement field through the thickness of a sandwich beam in order to check and compare the efficiency of different kinematics-based models. The first experimental results obtained on a sandwich beam under three-point bending are presented in this paper.
