Damage Tolerance of Aeronautical Sandwich Structures
The aim of this paper is to give an overview of the present aeronautical applications of sandwich materials and to describe the present damage tolerance approaches versus type of defects like debonding or impact. Some research orientations are proposed in order to improve, on the one hand, experimental identification of defect behaviour and, on the other hand, numerical simulation of aeronautical sandwich structures including such defects.
