Abstract
This chapter presents reviews of nephrotoxicity due to I lead, cadmium and mercury. Two other environmental toxins encountered in the workplace that cause clinically important kidney disease, silica and solvents, are considered in the next chapter ‘Pulmonary Renal Syndromes’. Uranimum, arsenic, chromium, beryllium, and germanium also may produce kidney disease but renal failure from these elements is rarely encountered in clinical practice.
