Abstract

Many people live in urban areas and their numbers are continuously increasing worldwide. These people accept — if necessary — increases in their exposure to numerous hazardous influences, such as noise, air pollution, etc. It is tolerated as urban living conditions more often than not are associated with more amenities, generally a better standard of living, greater cultural diversity as well as a greater variety for the consumers and often enough also greater job opportunities.
