Abstract
In this work the surface state and parameters of chemical bond were determined by XPS method for two intermetalllc compounds of Ti — Fe system — TiFe and TiFe2. As it is known, TiFe has a cubic structure of CsCI type and as a result of hydrogen absorption forms γ-TiFeH2 hydride with monoclinic lattice while TiFe2 has a hexagonal structure and does not form a hydride phase at its interaction with hydrogen [1].
