Abstract
HD 45677 and HD 50138 were observed sporadically in the BCD system (1) from 1959 to 1980. The photospheric component of the Balmer discontinuity (BD) in both stars has remained unchanged for the whole observing period. The uneven energy distribution near the BD of HD 45677 makes difficult its luminosity class determination. Hence, we derived two extreme luminosity classes. The (λ1, D) (mean position and value of the BD respectively) and the corresponding fundamental parameters of the studied B[e] stars are given in Table 1:
