Abstract
It is planned that, after its commissioning phase, the Galileo Telescope (TNG) will be run on assisted observing, with the possibility of flexible scheduling to take advantage of particularly favourable seeing conditions (Benacchio et al.,1993; S. di Serego Alighieri et al.,1995). Of course, no observer can be expected to wait at the observing site until the “super-seeing” conditions necessary for some observations are reached. Therefore, flexible scheduling seems to imply the need to perform observations in crucial seeing conditions in service mode, i.e., carried out by the Observatory staff.
