Abstract
The multitude of oscillatory and wave processes in dynamical systems can be divided into three large classes: natural oscillations and waves; forced oscillations and waves; self-oscillations and auto-waves. Oscillatory and wave processes are called natural, or free, if they are executed in the systems free from energy sources, viz., in conservative or in passive dissipative systems. In addition, oscillations and waves taking place in the systems with slightly time-varying parameters will be called natural too. In principle, such the systems contain energy sources but these sources are not the cause of exiting the oscillatory and waves processes.
