Abstract

Although, strictly speaking, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can be said to have formulated its own science policy only after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the historical origins of this policy can be traced back to an earlier period, even back to the founding of the CCP. This is because, before obtaining national political power, the Party organized the construction of revolutionary bases. During that time a number of policies, including science policy, appeared in their embryonic form. Moreover, as a political party which observes society and the issues of the Chinese Revolution from a Marxist perspective, the Party has affirmed, since its foundation, that science, a tremendous revolutionary force which pushes history forward and transforms society, is also an enormous revolutionary force which cures and transforms China.
