Abstract
This study is concerned with the interpretation of interrogative phrases and its impact on the syntax of constituent questions. We will first consider several issues in the semantics of interrogatives that have taken center-stage since the early nineties: the semantic similarities between indefinite noun phrases and interrogative phrases, the interpretation of grammatically singular wh-NPs in both single and multiple constituent questions, the properties with respect to presupposition projection of various question-embedding verbs (e.g. know versus wonder).
