Abstract
We shall conclude this monograph by (1) presenting a summary of the theory expounded in the previous chapters, (2) briefly discussing areas for further research, and (3) indicating how the variability approach can be used together with the transaction cost approach to deal with opportunistic behavior, monitoring, incentive structures, and other issues prominent in transaction cost analysis literature to create a complete theory of firms and markets.
