Abstract
Trichodoridae are rather short and relatively plump nematodes, varying in length from about 350 to 1800 pm. Their body is largely cylindrical, slightly tapered anteriorly to a more or less rounded head end and posteriorly with a short, usually blunt, tail. They often look cigar-shaped when moribund, especially in typical straight females and males in the genera Paratrichodorus and Allotrichodorus. Males of the genera Trichodorus and Monotrichodorus have the posterior body region clearly curved ventrally.
