Abstract

Two modifications of laser deposition of diamond are presented, as well as a laser-based method for the selective removal of diamond. The laser methods demonstrate the capability to produce thin diamond films from highly dispersive diamond powders, which can be very effective as a sublayer for chemical-vapour-deposited growing of diamond films. The results obtained confirm that the direct laser writing can be used for producing two-dimensional structures on the surface of a single diamond and on polycrystalline diamond films.
