Abstract
One of the central ideas in thermodynamics is the concept of entropy which measures the state of disorder of a system. While the importance of the ideas of thermodynamics, including entropy, has for some time been recognised as relevant in economic analysis, there have been few convincing practical applications. There are a number of reasons. We examine one of those reasons here.
