Modelling the Karstic Medium: A Geostatistical Approach

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Quantitative Geology and Geostatistics ((QGAG,volume 7))

Abstract

Karstic medium is an heterogeneous medium, characterized by the presence of a network of conduits that strongly influences groundwater flow. The elaboration of a karst model is necessary for the understanding of karstic groundwater flow. Based on the density of conduits, a geostatistical approach is proposed for the modelling of karstic medium. This approach satisfies the constraints required by hydrogeological applications, but some difficulties related to the model connectivity need further evaluation.
