Abstract

This paper analyses the comparative labour market experiences, over a period from late 1986 until early 1989, of a group of 120 individuals who were sampled from among those employed on a government-sponsored temporary employment scheme in the UK. This scheme was associated with the National Garden Festival in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, UK, during the Spring and Summer of 1986.1
