Abstract
It has been realized for many years that M31 contains a number of open clusters roughly similar to those in our Galaxy. Hubble (1929), for instance, in discussing M31’s stellar content, mentioned the presence of a small open cluster near his variable No. 40. (This cluster is No. 127 in Hodge’s catalogue, 1979). Furthermore, he studied what he called a star cluster, NGC 206, in some detail, even publishing a color-magnitude diagram for it (see Chapter 2).
