Abstract
The tissue typing laboratory provides three main services for the renal transplant unit:
-
1.
HLA typing and matching of recipients and donors. Matching in this sense means the sorting of the recipient list to identify those recipients who might have a transplant from a particular donor.
-
2.
Screening of the recipients for antibodies.
-
3.
Carrying out cross match tests between selected possible donor recipient pairs.
