Abstract
Industrial automation incorporating digital computers is becoming increasingly important in the production of goods and services. The continued progress in computer hardware and software has helped make computer control of machines and processes a technological and economic reality.
‘Concern for man himself and his fate must always form the chief interest of all technical endeavors — in order that the creations of our mind shall be a blessing and not a curse to mankind.’
Albert Einstein
