Abstract
It is well known that several mammalian species have changed in size since the Pleistocene. Degerbøl (1933) showed that carnivores in subfossil and archaeological materials in Denmark usually have decreased in size to the present time. Hooijer (1950) discusses the decrease in terms of a general trend during the Quaternary.
