Abstract
At the northern foot of the Ihunga are the head-waters of the Chabakaz (cf. map 4), lying in a basin of granite closed in on the south by the Ihunga and on the west and east by flat ridges. These ridges are likewise composed of granite, as also the lower slope of the Ihunga, the upper slope consisting of sediments (cf. section 4, Part II). On the northern side of the basin the Chabakaz flows through a narrow transversal valley cutting through the hill ridge of the Ruamheji — Nya Mirima (cf. photo 4).
