Abstract
In earlier chapters, a number of food preservation methods were discussed. Packaging is another preservation method. Indeed, faulty packaging will undo all that a food processor has attempted to accomplish by the most meticulous of manufacturing practices. But food packaging also performs many functions in addition to preservation. Few fields of activity essential to distribution and merchandising of food materials are as dynamic and competitive as food packaging.
