Abstract
We have already heard a certain amount about classification methods today and it now seems appropriate to explain one of these in greater detail, pointing out some of the uses to which it can be put and explaining some of the problems which can arise from these. This consideration is particularly apposite since this is one of the methods which has been proposed for the analysis of the European salt-marsh data currently in process of collection.
