Abstract

J. Tüxen (1969) has clearly analysed the different opinions current among phytosociologists interested in the classification of the plant communities of acid bogland. He rightly points out that the differences between authors stem largely from their different concepts of the nature of the association as applied to the class Oxycocco—Sphagnetea.
