Abstract

European Parliamentary Assemblies are an innovation in European politics since the Second World War. In the last eight years no less than six Assemblies have come into being:

    The Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe.

    The Nordic Council,

    The Common Assembly of the European Coal and Steel Community,

  4. 4.

    The Conference of N.A.T.O. Parliamentarians,

    The Western European Union Assembly,

  6. 6.

    The Benelux Parliamentary Council.
