In the Koloniaal Verslag of 1893, which was submitted by the previous Minister of Colonies with his official letter of 19 September 1893, one finds (on pp.29–30)2 a detailed account of a meeting requested by the Governor of Queensland which was held in February 1893 between the Administrator of British New Guinea, Sir William MacGregor, 3 and the Resident of Ternate. Its purpose was to discuss mutual interests in an improved boundary regulation between the British and Netherlands territories in New Guinea.
