Abstract

A comparison of the description given below with the original generic description of Acromastigum (10, p. 103) will show that the most important changes are connected with the histological structure of the axial organs, the form and method of attachment of the leaves and underleaves, and certain structural details of the cell-walls. A more detailed discussion of some of the generic features will follow the formal description.
