Abstract

When the Zukunft ceased publication in 1922, Harden was sixty-one, a sick and pessimistic man who expected nothing more than an unregretted death. But he was to live five more years, and since writing was for him a life function, he continued until the moment of his death to register his thoughts on the affairs of his day.
