Abstract

The acceptance of dessert wines in the American marketplace has declined steadily during the past several decades, and table wines have become more popular. Aperitif wines have been more consistent, however, perhaps due primarily to the complementary nature that these wines have in the role of mixers and adjuncts to other more positively disposed products.
