Abstract
Is Man really interested in the future? In his own future without any doubt, but only indirectly and vaguely in the future of the society in which he lives, unless this society is extremely dynamic so that its citizens are “engagés” to a great extent. In a more stable society, the individual vaguely thinks that things in the future will be pretty much what they are although he may consider it probable that Man will invent some more tools and some more ingenious gadgets.
