Abstract
The first approach is that from answering or apologetic theology. Such a theology “answers the questions implied in the ‘situation’ in the power of the eternal message and with the means provided by the situation whose questions it answers.” This situation is for Tillich our modern culture, within which Christianity finds itself. And it is basically a western culture.2
