Abstract
In this investigation it was intended to find the answers to a number of questions, the three most important of which may be formulated as follows:

(a)
Which milieu facets act as points of anchorage for the refugee’s feeling or lack of feeling at ease and at home in the new environment?

(b)
What characteristics are revealed in the process of adjustment when at successive intervals in the course of the first three years of his stay in the new homecountry, the various ways in which the refugee experiences and evaluates his new milieu are registered?

(c)
Which factors either furthering or hindering adjustment may be deducted from the results of registration?
