Abstract
Although a good deal is known of the effects of drugs on the human fetus and the volume of this knowledge increases almost daily, there remains a good deal of confusion in correlating what are often conflicting reports. Much work remains to be done and owing to the difficulties of such researches, many compounds remain untested with regards to their effects on the fetus. Consequently, many manufacturers simply state that their product should not be prescribed to pregnant women.
