Abstract
The United Nations systems is composed of the United Nations, the International Court of Justice and fourteen1 specialized agencies, i.e., autonomous international organizations which in accordance with Articles 57 and 63 of the United Nations Charter have become affiliated with the United Nations. Although the entire system will be treated as an entity in Part II, detailed analysis of the International Court of Justice, the International Development Association, the International Monetary Fund, the International Finance Corporation and the United Nations peacekeeping and observation forces will be considered under applicable functional headings in Part IV.
