Abstract
The conclusion of my study of Professor Hocking’s philosophy is that the creative presence of God in the world is non-intrusive, and thereby allows the creative presence of man its full range as a finite purpose participating an infinite purpose. The integrity of both the One and the Many is preserved through a participation which can be understood as a coincidence of purpose. The existential situation is a dialectical relation or tension in which one term functions as source-reality and the other can be any number of participants.
