Abstract

If one hopes for a world in which cooperation will become the dominant motive of human action, it is not enough simply to express such a desire: it is much more essential to investigate under what circumstances such a condition might come about. The wish for a better world has been expressed since days immemorial, but always the agressive and selfish feelings of individuals and groups have obtained the upper hand over altruism and genuine cooperation.
