Abstract
The glossematic conception of the linguistic sign and its meaning is, as was to be expected, a purely formal one. OSG gives as Hjelmslev’s definition of the linguistic sign: “the unit consisting of content-form and expression-form and established by the solidarity 1) that we have called the sign function” (OSG p. 53).
